The mission of the Celtic Heritage Trail is to identify and preserve the Celtic Heritage of the Quad Cities and to inform, educate and inspire the general public, students, tourists, and Celts with programs about Celtic contributions to this region.

CHeT has erected 9 Celtic Trail Markers in Davenport, as well as a Celtic Cross on the St. Ambrose University Campus.

The Celtic Heritage Trail's implementation of its mission will illuminate the historic contributions and accomplishments of the Quad Cities Celtic pioneers through accurate research.

This illuminiation includes but is not limited to:

  • establishment of an archive of Celtic related materials at St. Ambrose university,
  • design and erect markers to highlight identified Quad City area Celtic buildings, neighborhoods and institutions,
  • identify, promote, and celebrate Quad City Celtic organizations and their activities,
  • provide a well-researched, historically accurate, free public programs on Celtic immigration to the Quad City area,
  • establishment of an internet presence
  • design, construct and erect a non-denominational Celtic Cross, a nationally recognized symbol.
